Jody and I travelled down to Dover to ‘swim in’ with Lewis Pugh and during the trip she told me that she was having a few medical issues.  She never let on and yet she emphasised with anyone who was ill and unwell no matter how trivial the condition.  I never heard Jody complain about what life had thrown at her, she always put others before herself.  This sums up the genuinely caring person that she was.  Jody was a big part of my swim world and I will always miss her but I have a special gift from her which I hold dear; a small bottle of sand from a Dover beach with a message that I should fill it when I get to France.  One day, Jody, I will fill that bottle and raise a glass of something to you.  XX
